Escape
In this self-portrait, the artist is seen standing rigid and emotionless. A disembodied hand claws its way out from between the buttons of his shirt. An anguished face presses against the fabric from within. The tattoo on the wrist of the protruding hand identifies it as the artist’s own, as if he is trying to escape from his own body.
