Spirit of the Dancing Forest
I captured today's image during an extreme wind advisory. I stood watching the trees behind my house bend under the force of the wind, amazed by the range of motion they could endure without breaking. I wanted to capture this somehow, so I used ND filters in order to allow myself to set the camera for a 3 second exposure. The result? The unmoving trunks of the trees remain sharp at the bottom of the frame, while the canopy above dissolves into movement, backlit by the midday sun.
